Greetings and getting started

on 25-12-2015

Thanks for being one of the trail-blazers with this site. It's currently under development. Just to answer a common question: This site does not attempt to compete with Facebook. What Facebook does Facebook does very well. This site hopes to cater more towards the needs of the cosplay community. Users will be able to upload photos and organise them into albums and costumes which makes perfect sense for a cosplayer. (see here for uploading and organising your photos). With enough interested participants we look forwad to plenty of tutorials, reviews and opinion pieces. And finally we hope that a thriving forum will benefit all.

Everything will be indexed and searchable to make life easier.

At this point we are keen to get as much quality content as possible. So upload your photos. If you are a wordsmith then consider hammering out a blog, or a tutorial or a review. Once we have content then we can adjust the framework accordingly. Unfortunately, as this site is still at the development level you won't be able to share that content with anyone not part of the program. But as soon as we are online, you'll be able to share that content on Facebook and the like.

There are plenty of things planned to be added to this site. One thing I'm really pumped for is a place where we can share photoshoot locations. Everyone love a great location. Other things planned are

  • A calendar of Australian cosplay related events
  • A list of retailers and prop builders and costumers available for commision jobs

Remember if you have any colleagues who are active in the scene tell them to send an email to alphatest@australiancosplay.com.au letting us know which username they would like and we can set up an account for them.

We are currently experiencing a bug where users who are not logged in are unable to view other user's photos, articles, etc when visiting their home page. We are trying to figure out why this randomly happens and are working towards a fix

Also, remember to check back frequently. We are hoping to make this into a focal place for cosplayers in Australia.
